How to create Full Backup on Cpanel
It is common for most host companies to leave the backup storage in the hands of the customer however, most customers are unaware of the process involved in generating and restoring backups when needed.

To create a backup on Cpanel, we advice you create a full backup, this will help in storing up both your index folder and mail folder, also it is very important to note that backups are not to be stored in your public_html folder of cpanel, it is best practise to download and save in an external storage so as to enable restoration whenever necessary.
How to Generate a Full Backup in cPanel
To generate a full backup in cPanel:
- Log into cPanel.
- In the Files section, click on the Backups icon.
- Under Full Backup, click Generate/ Download a Full Website Backup.
- On the next page, select the Home Directory option from the Backup Destination drop-down menu.
- For Email Address, select whether or not you wish to receive an email notification once the backup is complete. (You may also change the notification email address in the provided field if you wish.)
- Click Generate Backup.
This will generate the backup for you and place the tar.gz file inside of your home directory. Please note that it is important to have your backup downloaded, You can download the backup via cPanel, FTP or SSH.
