Upperlink Limited now CMMI Appraised
Upperlink Limited is now appraised at the Maturity Level 3 for Development 1.3 on the CMMI Institute‘s Capability Maturity Model Integration Framework. It’s the second organization in West Africa achieving this milestone. Upperlink Limited partnered with Nihilent, a global consulting and solutions Integration Company to achieve this goal.
Mr Segun Akano, Managing Director Upperlink said CMMI is a process improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that improve performance, and Upperlink as the second in West Africa and Nigeria can now meet with international standards.
This Maturity Level proves that Upperlink’s processes are now defined. This now means that Upperlink’s processes are now characterized for the organization and her processes are no longer reactive but are now proactive. Projects now tailor their processes from standards set by the organization.
The benefit of this Level 3 maturity is process improvement concept including in market share increase, efficiency in productivity and quality assurance and this increasing profitability. It also increases customer satisfaction – their needs are met faster and better.
At a press conference held at the Upperlink Limited Head Office on the 19th of August 2015, Shohel Noor, General Manager Nihilent West Africa, stated that Upperlink’s strengths even before their appraisal included Project Management, Requirements Development and Software Engineering.
Some of the Core Process Areas covered by this Level of Maturity include Decision Analysis & Resolution, Requirements Development, Integrated Project Management, Organizational Process Definition & Focus, Organizational Training, Validation, Verification and Risk Management.
