Nihilent Partners with Upperlink for Capability Maturity Model (CMMI) Adoption
Upperlink, a leading Nigerian software products, payment solutions and Internet applications company has selected Nihilent, a Lagos based global consulting and solutions integration company as partner to adopt and adapt best practices of CMMI-DEV framework, targeting for Maturity Level 3. Upperlink will leverage the expertise of Nihilent’s certified Lead Appraisers in implementing standard processes within the organization, to be able to offer quality certified products and services to the Nigerian market.
This engagement comes in the wake of the announcement from Mrs. Omobola Johnson, Minister of Communications Technology about the government of Nigeria’s plan to groom 250 local software companies that will begin to develop software of international standard. The minister had said that there are many local software companies that play on the fringes, but are not doing very well to make their products acceptable in the market.
Upperlink through the association with Nihilent will now be poised to lead in the Nigerian IT market with solutions and services that have attained high maturity levels. This will support significantly the emergence of home grown IT companies that have built up capabilities to deliver quality services.
